About

Hi. I’m Mike. Or Duffy, as most people call me.

I am a content creator, reporter, copywriter, producer and marketing professional. Trained as a writer with a Bachelor’s in Journalism (Public Relations) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an eight-year career in the NFL. Six of those years were spent as head beat reporter for BaltimoreRavens.com, where I was also a talking head on camera and behind the microphone. You may have even heard my weekly radio show on 105.7 FM in the Baltimore area. It was early, so don’t judge my voice.

I’ve always been in love with music and freelanced for The Baltimore Sun covering the Charm City music scene before heading west to Los Angeles and Fender in 2011. I spent another nine years as the editorial lead for Fender.com and the Fender Play online lessons startup. I wrote campaign copy for high-profile product launches, artist features, live show recaps, album reviews and how-to articles, in addition to producing videos of performances, interviews and gear demos. During my time with Fender, we built Fender.com into the complete home for everything you need to know about playing a stringed instrument and the artists that do it way better than I could ever imagine.

I am currently Copy Lead for several clients for the Dynamic Dynosaur creative agency, in addition to taking on contract work for clients in need of editorial, copywriting or social media consulting.

I still love sports and even started a (now shuttered) Ravens podcast from the West Coast, watch as much hoops as I can, love to cook and run when I need to clear my head. I’m from Charlotte, so a lot of North Carolina pride here. And I’m tall.
