Bloc Party’s latest album, Hymns, came out last Friday, and it’s a doozy. I’m a fan, and actually hadn’t been a huge Bloc Party champion in the past. I mean, I’d seen them in the past and jammed out, for sure.

But I do dig this record, especially because it represents a major shift for the band. It’s a new sound that we haven’t heard from the guys over their first four albums. Kele Okereke sings with such passion, and there is heartbreak in his voice that only he can deliver with that signature falsetto.
